Designform worked closely with Mercedes-Benz Tech architects and staff to design this 532,000-square-foot service parts distribution warehouse for MBUSI.

 

As part of the design-build-to-suit team, Designform crafted the Mercedes-Benz criteria into a state-of-the-art facility, with particular emphasis on employee safety and health by incorporating many sustainable initiatives.

 

Located on approximately 40 acres, the building features 80’-0” column spacing, a continuous band of windows, and (160) 6’ x 20’ skylights to create an open and bright interior environment. The structure is conventional steel frame with precast concrete columns. Exterior materials are insulated metal sandwich wall panels above the window band with cast-in-place concrete below. The facility also features a white TPO roofing system to reduce the heat island effect.

 

Designform provided site planning, tenant programming, architectural design, construction documentation, interior design and project management service for this project completed in 2005.
