POLK COUNTY, FL

FEDEX GROUND FACILITY

This 303,000-square-foot facility warehouse located in Polk County, Florida was chosen because of its access to major highways, proximity to customers' distribution centers, and a strong local workforce for recruiting employees. Inside the facility there is 2,940-square-feet selected for office space. The new facility will provide up to approximately 260 full-time temporary jobs and 360 full-time job positions.


The warehouse is constructed of conventional steel frame with load bearing tilt-up concrete wall panels. In addition, a 5,180-square-foot vehicle maintenance building and 2,400-square-foot gateway security building were included in this project. Like the warehouse, the vehicle maintenance building is constructed of conventional steel frame with load bearing tilt-up concrete wall panels. The gateway security building is constructed with metal stud framing and fiber cement siding.


Designform provided architectural design and documentation based on Federal Express Prototypes and Federal Express Brand Identity for this new package distribution facility.
